A Brief History of Maxon Furniture
Maxon Furniture Inc. started in 1977 as Panel Concepts Inc. making office cubicle panels. In our efforts to marry form and function, we've always been innovators. We developed the patented Camlock Connection System to improve panel connections, and the Data Center Tile for embedding flat-panel screens directly into cubicle panels. As the BPI brand, we started producing the durable Versé privacy panels, and later our popular Parallel® line, a very affordable cubicle option.
Owned by the HNI Corporation since 1986, our multiple brands were unified under the MAXON name in 2002, and our manufacturing was consolidated to our Salisbury, North Carolina plant in 2005.
Throughout the name changes, we've maintained our commitment to innovation in building office furniture that meets the needs of those who really use it. 2004 brought another innovation: A website designed exclusively for you, to help you make informed decisions. With access to articles, planning tools and a way to store your project in progress, buying office furniture is no longer a mystery.
